Price from quotes, not hopes
Get at least two quotes for every large cost and note what is included. Backers rarely mind a high goal; they mind a goal that looks invented.
- 02
Plan for what you receive
The platform fee is deducted from each backing, so you receive 85% of what Backers give. Set the goal so that amount covers your real costs.
- 03
Add a small buffer
Prices move. A buffer of five to ten percent in your last milestone covers surprises without making the goal look padded. Say so openly in your story.
Example milestone plan
An example plan for a mobility equipment dream with a goal of $11,000. Backers fund the whole goal, but each milestone's money stays held until you post the proof and Backers release it.
Milestone 1
$1,650 · 15%
Confirm fit and specification
Post a supplier quote and assessment payment record with personal details hidden, showing the chosen equipment configuration.
Milestone 2
$6,050 · 55%
Order the core equipment
Share the supplier order confirmation and purchase payment receipt, with your address and any personal identifiers removed.
Milestone 3
$2,200 · 20%
Receive and fit equipment
Upload a redacted delivery record and fitting invoice, plus a photo of the equipment alone showing the supplied configuration.
Milestone 4
$1,100 · 10%

Post receipts for final accessories or adjustments and a redacted handover checklist confirming the funded setup is complete.
Risks to plan for
- R1
Specification affects suitability
The wrong dimensions or configuration can make equipment unsuitable. Confirm the assessment and itemised quote before ordering, and link the purchase proof to that exact specification.
- R2
Custom orders take longer
Custom equipment or adaptations may have uncertain delivery dates. Separate ordering from delivery milestones and share supplier updates rather than promising an exact handover day.
- R3
Accessories are easily missed
Cushions, mounts or other necessary accessories may be absent from a base quote. List required additions during assessment and reserve a separate budget for fitting and final setup.
How Backers are protected
14-day review per milestone
When proof is posted, each Backer has 14 days to release their share or ask for more. Money not released in time goes back to the Backer.
15% fee, deducted — never added
Backers pay exactly what they choose. The 15% fee comes out of each backing: $100 gives the Dreamer $85. The fee is kept if money is returned.
Gifts, not shares
Backings are gifts. No shares, equity, interest or repayment, and Dreamers keep full ownership. Nothing on cohero is an investment or a loan.
Questions and answers
How can I prove delivery without showing myself using the equipment?
Share a delivery confirmation with your address hidden, a supplier handover record or a photo of the equipment on its own. Backers can review the item and funded configuration without seeing your body, home address or assessment notes.
Should my goal include the platform fee?
Yes. The fee is taken from the backing, never added for the Backer. With a goal of $11,000, you receive $9,350 once everything is released.
Can I fund adaptations as well as the main equipment?
Identify the adaptations in the supplier quote and explain whether they are fitted before delivery or during setup. Separate their costs from the base item, and use redacted invoices and equipment-only photos as proof.
