How to pitch your art exhibition dream in Munich

Backers decide in seconds whether to swipe right. Your pitch has to explain your art exhibition dream, why it matters to you and what their money will do before they move on.

An art exhibition needs more than finished work: space, installation and careful handling shape the budget. Let Backers follow the route from a tested display plan to an installed, documented show.

  1. 01

    Lead with the outcome

Your headline should name the result, not the struggle. Say what you will finish and when. A strong headline fits on one line and makes a stranger curious enough to open the story.

  2. 02

Tell it in three short parts

Who you are, what you are making and why now. A few plain sentences each. Never promise what you cannot prove later; Backers give to a person, so let your own voice come through.

  3. 03

    Show, then ask

Add real photos of you and your work. Link each milestone to the proof you will post. End with a clear ask: what the first milestone needs and what Backers will see when it is done.

Risks to plan for

  • R1

    Venue layout changes

Unavailable walls or unexpected room dimensions can disrupt the hang. Measure the space before fabrication and include adaptable display hardware and a revised layout check in the installation stage.

  • R2

    Works suffer in transit

Fragile surfaces or large frames can be damaged during transport. Budget fitted packing and careful handling, then document condition before collection and again at the installation milestone.

  • R3

    Fabrication runs late

Specialist materials or outsourced finishes can delay completed pieces. Test a sample early, agree delivery checkpoints and keep a simpler display option within the fabrication budget.

Example milestone plan

An example plan for a art exhibition dream with a goal of €5,300. Backers fund the whole goal, but each milestone's money stays held until you post the proof and Backers release it.

    €1,325 · 25%

    Confirm the exhibition plan

    Document and close show

Share exhibition photographs, a public programme record and a deinstallation checklist showing the completed show.

How Backers are protected

14-day review per milestone

When proof is posted, each Backer has 14 days to release their share or ask for more. Money not released in time goes back to the Backer.

15% fee, deducted — never added

Backers pay exactly what they choose. The 15% fee comes out of each backing: €100 gives the Dreamer €85. The fee is kept if money is returned.

Gifts, not shares

Backings are gifts. No shares, equity, interest or repayment, and Dreamers keep full ownership. Nothing on cohero is an investment or a loan.

Questions and answers

What makes a art exhibition pitch convincing?

Specific numbers, real photos and a first milestone small enough to reach soon. Backers trust Dreamers who show where every amount goes and who have already started on their own.

Can I fund an exhibition without selling the artworks?

Yes. A backing is a gift, not an artwork purchase or an ownership share. Explain that the goal covers making and presenting the exhibition, and use installed views and documentation to demonstrate the completed project.

What proof works if visitors cannot be photographed?

Photograph the installed works before opening, share the exhibition programme and record the empty gallery after setup. These can document the show without identifying visitors or making attendance the only measure of completion.
