What does a bakery dream cost in Athens?

A clear budget is the fastest way to earn a Backer's trust. It shows you know what your bakery dream costs and that every amount has a purpose. Start from the example and replace it with real quotes.

A bakery ties its opening budget to oven capacity, dough preparation and a workable production schedule. Let Backers see the kitchen take shape before funding the first display.

    Price from quotes, not hopes

Get at least two quotes for every large cost and note what is included. Backers rarely mind a high goal; they mind a goal that looks invented.

  2. 02

    Plan for what you receive

The platform fee is deducted from each backing, so you receive 85% of what Backers give. Set the goal so that amount covers your real costs.

  3. 03

    Add a small buffer

Prices move. A buffer of five to ten percent in your last milestone covers surprises without making the goal look padded. Say so openly in your story.

Example milestone plan

An example plan for a bakery dream with a goal of €40,000. Backers fund the whole goal, but each milestone's money stays held until you post the proof and Backers release it.

  1. Milestone 1

    €6,000 · 15%

    Set the bake plan

Post a sample production schedule, kitchen measurements and equipment quotes matched to the planned bread and pastry range.

  2. Milestone 2

    €16,000 · 40%

    Equip the bake room

Share oven and mixer invoices, installation photos and a walkthrough showing the completed dough preparation area.

  3. Milestone 3

    €12,000 · 30%

    Complete trial bakes

Upload batch logs, photos of trial loaves and pastries, and notes on oven loading, cooling space and recipe adjustments.

  4. Milestone 4

    €6,000 · 15%

    Stock the opening counter

Post ingredient and packaging receipts, display photos and the opening bake schedule with planned batch quantities.

Risks to plan for

  • R1

    Oven capacity mismatch

An oven may handle fewer products than the proposed schedule assumes. Compare tray capacity during planning and fund trial bakes before committing to opening volumes.

  • R2

    Inconsistent dough batches

Dough timing can change with room conditions and batch size. Record trial temperatures and timings, then allow ingredients and staff time for repeat production tests.

  • R3

    Unsold fresh products

A broad opening range can leave too much unsold bread and pastry. Budget for smaller initial batches and use the final milestone to show a practical replenishment plan.

How Backers are protected

14-day review per milestone

When proof is posted, each Backer has 14 days to release their share or ask for more. Money not released in time goes back to the Backer.

15% fee, deducted — never added

Backers pay exactly what they choose. The 15% fee comes out of each backing: €100 gives the Dreamer €85. The fee is kept if money is returned.

Gifts, not shares

Backings are gifts. No shares, equity, interest or repayment, and Dreamers keep full ownership. Nothing on cohero is an investment or a loan.

Questions and answers

What makes a trial bake useful proof for Backers?

Share batch sizes, timing notes and clear photos of finished products alongside the equipment used. Explain what changed between trials so Backers can see production progress rather than only styled product shots.

Should my goal include the platform fee?

Yes. The fee is taken from the backing, never added for the Backer. With a goal of €40,000, you receive €34,000 once everything is released.

Can I fund a bakery with a small product range?

A focused bread or pastry range can make the equipment plan easier to assess. Show how each product fits the oven schedule, and explain which additional products would require equipment outside this dream.
